Robotics Arm Housing
A desensitized project from our Shenzhen factory. Names and figures are altered; the process and outcome reflect how we typically deliver for this kind of application.
The challenge
A service-robot company needed a light, stiff housing for a robotic arm joint. Traditional CNC would have been slow and wasteful for the complex internal ribs, and they wanted 30 units for field testing.
Our solution
We produced the housings in SLS PA12 — strong, lightweight, with no support structures thanks to the powder bed. Living hinges and snap features were printed in one piece, then bead-blasted and dyed to the client's color.
Results
30 housings delivered in 6 working days. The powder-bed process cut weight versus CNC and let the client test multiple mounting variants from one build.
Why Jinghui — a factory, not a reseller
Because we run SLA, SLS, FDM, CNC and vacuum casting in one Shenzhen workshop, mixed-process jobs like this stay under one quality owner, one schedule and one quote. You get engineered parts, not a marketplace gamble.
Common questions on this type of project
SLS nylon is tougher and more impact-resistant than resin, and the powder supports overhangs so there are no support marks to remove — ideal for functional, snap-fit housings.
Yes. We offer dyed, bead-blasted and smooth-finished SLS parts. For higher surface quality we can also vacuum-cast the same geometry in PU.
